St. Bede’s Anglican Church
St. Bede’s Anglican Church is a member of the United Episcopal Church of North America (UECNA). Located in a beautiful community in Tucson, AZ. St. Bede’s provides the perfect pastoral setting for God’s people to grow in their discipleship in Jesus Christ. As a member of the UECNA, St. Bede’s is a traditional Anglican parish that uses a traditional liturgy (1928 BCP) and maintains traditional orders.
St. Bede’s obtains it’s own property. Although very small, it is stable and dedicated to serve the work of God. Currently, the parish is being served by our Deacon, Layreaders, and occasionally our Bishop. This would be an ideal position for bi-vocational or retired clergy or priests. St. Bede’s is within commuting distance of Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, and other major metropolitan areas.
The parish is connected with the hall, where discipleship and fellowship take place. St. Bede’s is poised for growth and we are already seeing evidence of this within our small membership and property improvements. The vision of St. Bede’s is to know Christ and make Him known.
God is moving and His grace has sustained the efforts of the laity. There is a need for growth to overcome a predominant older demographic into a multi-generational church. The biggest obstacle is the small worship space. This has limited the ability to accommodate visitors and potential new young families. The Rector would be responsible for coordinating activities that will engage involvement in building a multi-generational discipleship culture, assisting current members to create church growth, and continuing to help complete the developed plan that has been cast by the vestry for an onsite new church structure so that St. Bede’s can better serve the community and spread the gospel further.
We desire the whole church body to develop spiritually and as ours church continues to grow, the need for new clergy is pressing. St. Bede’s offers a unique opportunity to serve God in your vocation in an environment with male only ordained clergy in the Church, and that each Christian has a special ministry that God has for them. We are all called to minister. St. Bede’s is commitment to classical Anglicanism, as grounded in Scripture and use of the 1928 prayerbook and fidelity to historic liturgical practice, is stable and secure. We strive to strengthen our evangelical commitment to preach the gospel and serve those in need, making a difference in our community. St. Bede’s anticipates a new year filled with opportunities.
